Colin Trevorrow’s Cancelled ‘Episode IX’ Script Gets Animated!

Most Star Wars fans are aware that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow was originally slated to write and direct Episode IX. Now, a new animated short is showing us what his plans were for the final Skywalker Saga adventure.

Trevorrow’s script was ditched when he was removed as director, but it leaked on the internet soon after the release of The Rise of Skywalker. His take on the story is radically different than what we got in the final movie. There’s no Emperor Palpatine, for one, and there isn’t much of a hunt for Sith artifacts. A few elements from his script made it to the film, apparently, as he still received a writer’s credit.

Digital artist Ethan (who can be found on Twitter here) did the animation for the short.

Here’s the video. Just a warning: there is some harsh language, so it’s definitely not for kids.
