Yoda Bat Recognized as New Species

The Force is with an unusual fruit bat that looks a lot like everyone’s favorite Jedi Master, Yoda. The bat has a rounder jaw than most other fruit bats and looks like it’s smiling. The bat lives in a remote rain forest in Papua New Guinea. It was formally registered as a newly identified species and is now named the happy (Hamamas) tube-nosed fruit bat. University of York biologist, Dr. Nancy Irwin stated, “Since most remote Papuans have never seen ‘Star Wars,’ I thought it fitting to use a local name.”

Well, somebody needs to get a generator and big-screen TV out to these people so they can get acquainted with a Galaxy Far, Far Away!
