There’s a very dedicated collecting corps that hunts these treasures down, which is why the display pictured here – a very rare piece issued after the release of Return of the Jedi – commanded an insane price when it was recently auctioned on eBay. This two-sided display was meant to sit atop an action figure rack and features an odd assortment of aliens and characters. Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are not pictured, but Prune Face and Bib Fortuna are (aliens were among the most popular figures in the vintage line, so signage went a bit exotic). After some furious bidding, the sign sold for $710! A high price for sure, but if you look at the pictures, you can understand why vintage collectors went bonkers over this item.
This Star Wars toy store display just sold for a crazy price
One of the coolest things about the Kenner Star Wars toy line from the 1970s and 1980s is the wide variety of store displays that beckoned young fans into the toy aisle to pick up the latest action figures and accessories.
