EW’s always reliable Anthony Breznican tipped everyone off to the latest villain reveal in a new “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” teaser trailer. The trailer announces that tickets went on sale last night for the upcoming movie. Although Disney and Lucasfilm are still holding back in completely unwrapping this wonderful Christmas, the back of Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin’s head is clearly seen gazing upon the construction of the Death Star in one scene. See more after the jump.
There have long been rumors that Peter Cushing would posthumously reprise the character via newly mastered CGI rendering. It looks like the rumors are all true. The figure in the trailer even appears to have Cushing’s trademark walking style down.

Some fans of the late actor have screamed that bringing Cushing back digitally is disrespectful to both him and his family. As a Tarkin collector and huge admirer of the actor’s work from his Hammer and Amicus films to “Star Wars,” I am extremely excited to see Cushing back onscreen in the role. I see his part in the film to be absolutely necessary and an homage to the great iconic talent. Hopefully, they did the smart thing and had Tarkin voice actor Stephen Stanton (“The Clone Wars,” “Rebels”) overdub the character’s lines in the movie.
