Supreme Leader Snoke isn’t satisfied ruling the galaxy. Apparently, he wants to rule Hollywood and direct films, too. In a recent Hollywood Reporter story, actor Andrew Garfield revealed that Andy Serkis arrived on the set of his directorial debut, “Breathe,” ready to shoot scenes for the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” You can read the excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter after the jump.
“In fact, Serkis found directing to be so second nature that while [Andrew] Garfield and [Claire] Foy were having a pre-production meeting with a medical specialist at Pinewood Studios, their director [Andy Serkis] stopped by during a break from ‘Star Wars,’ in which he plays Supreme Leader Snoke. He was dressed in his performance-capture leotard and the required white dots, and even wore faux hair on his face. ‘It was a really difficult discussion, and Andy tried to take part as our director, and we couldn’t take it seriously!’ laughed Garfield. ‘I think he’s more used to wearing that outfit than regular clothes.’
In Serkis’s directorial debut “Breathe,” Robin Cavendish is confined to a bed and given only months to live after contracting polio at the age of 28. With help from his family and inventor Teddy Hall, Cavendish devotes the rest of his life to help fellow patients and the disabled. The movie comes out October 13th, 2017.
