The much-anticipated “Rise of the Resistance” ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge finally has an opening date for both Disney World in Orlando and Disneyland in Anaheim. They won’t be opening on the same date, however.
According to a post on the Disney Parks blog, “Rise of the Resistance” opens first at Disney World in Orlando on December 5, which just happens to be Walt Disney’s birthday. The Disneyland version of the ride will open on January 17, 2020.
According to Disney Parks, “Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”
Disney has even released artwork for the ride, showcasing the characters from the sequel trilogy (and Original Trilogy AT-ATs) that will populate the ride.
This teaser trailer gives you a hint, but no real footage, of the ride.
