OSU Robot Cassie Dresses Up as AT-ST for Halloween [VIDEO]

Members of the Oregon State University Dynamics Robotics Lab got a little excited for robot Cassie’s Halloween costume.

Cassie dressed up as an AT-ST from Star Wars. AT-ST stands for “All Terrain Scout Transport,” which is basically accurate for Cassie, too.

Unfortunately, no Ewoks were harmed in the production of this video.

Cassie was originally designed by the Dynamic Robotics Lab at Oregon State University. Newer versions of Cassie are designed, built, and supported by Agility Robotics.

The first versions of Cassie are being used by research laboratories, including the DRL, to study new ways of controlling legged robots. Cassie is physically capable of many impressive feats of agility, giving control designers the ability to try things that were impossible on previous experimental robots. In the future, Cassie may be used to deliver packages, assist the elderly, or help emergency personnel respond to dangerous situations.
