41 years ago today, the horror and sci-fi worlds collided, as the Star Wars universe added two Hammer Horror film veterans to create two iconic villains.
On June 15, 1976, Variety reported that Peter Cushing (Horror of Dracula, The Curse of Frankenstein) would be playing Grand Moff Tarkin in The Star Wars, which was in production in England. Joining him would be Dave Prowse (Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell), who Variety reported would be playing a “huge masked villain.”
