Relay for Life took Marshall County, WV by storm Friday night, and they did things a little differently than normal.
The relay was Star Wars themed, so you could see plenty of “May the Cure be with You” signs and different Star Wars costumes.
The event brought out a few hundred people, and cancer survivors were able to tell their stories.

For Team Captain Lottie Durbin, this event is personal because cancer has affected her life in a lot of different ways.
“I had a very dear friend. Found me in Walmart to tell me she had cancer and wasn’t going to make it,” she said. “I always do a bag for her every year, I have never forgotten. It means a lot to see these bags. They’re not just a bag, they’re not a luminaria, they are people.”
The relay will continue throughout the rest of the night.
