Stan Lee turns 93 today and ROT5 salutes him for his contribution to the “Star Wars” Universe. His Marvel Comics took a chance publishing an adaptation of a little film in 1977 which had yet to prove itself. It was a gamble that quickly paid off for Lee and his fellow partners. Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter was quoted as stating, “[‘Star Wars’] single-handedly saved Marvel.” The title was such a success that it ran from 1977 to 1986.
