George Lucas may have sold his company to Disney, but he still offers his advice to new Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy on one aspect of the film franchise he created. She shared with Entertainment Weekly what his main concern is when it comes to a Galaxy Far, Far Away.
“…he’ll whisper in my ear every now and then. Usually it’s something specific or important to him about Jedi training. Things like that.”
It brings a tear to my eye that he still cares (for real). Kennedy also commented on Lucas’s difficulty in stepping away from his creation.
“I think he’s starting to settle into this and just be a fan. It’s taken a while. It’s hard to let go, after 40 years. That’s a lot of expectation and things he thought a lot about. Suddenly that next generation, that whole thematic idea he came up with, is in process.”
