Rey, Ahsoka Tano, Jyn Erso, and other iconic heroes will star in new Star Wars Forces of Destiny animated micro-series coming out in July 2017. We’ll also get toys from Hasbro, books, apparel, and much more. I can’t begin to tell you how exciting it is when you have a daughter to see Star Wars putting a particular focus on their female heroes. I used to take for granted the importance of strong female characters in both Star Wars and other franchises. It all started with George Lucas giving Carrie Fisher a strong role to play in Princess Leia and continues now with Kathleen Kennedy pushing forward with a whole new era of wonderfully exciting female characters.
