First Pics From ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Are Here!

Entertainment Weekly has dropped the first images from “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the Star Wars live-action series coming to Disney+ on May 25.

The images first appeared on EW.com, and include some behind-the-scenes details. The pictures not only feature Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, but also Joel Edgerton, who returns as Uncle Owen.

The series’ new villain is also seen: a Jedi-hunting Inquisitor named Reva (Moses Ingram) who serves the Grand Inquisitor and Darth Vader. “They share a common dark-side goal, they’re on the same team,” Ingram says of Reva and her bosses.

Of course, Hayden Christensen will make his long-awaited return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.

McGregor tells EW that the series opens with the Jedi master facing a personal crisis. “We find Obi-Wan at the beginning of our story rather broken, and faithless, and beaten, somewhat given up,” he says.

Deborah Chow serves as the series’ director, and writer Joby Harold promises the series’ location will not be limited to Tatooine. Harold teases a new planet called Daiyu, which he says “sort of has a Hong Kong feel to it. It’s got a graffiti-ridden nightlife, and is kind of edgy. It’s just got a different lane and a different feeling.”

Here are the pictures from the EW article, starting with the cover.
