Fan-Made Trailer Makes Strong Case for “Kenobi” Film

Ever since Lucasfilm and Disney announced plans to make “Star Wars” stand-alone films, fans have clamored for one about Obi-Wan Kenobi. Even Ewan McGregor seemed excited about the prospect of a movie about what takes place in the 20 years between “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope”… at least until he started getting asked about it EVERY. TIME. HE. SAT. DOWN. FOR. AN. INTERVIEW.

Filmmaker Rich Williamson has taken it upon himself to create a visible example of what we could possibly see if an Obi-Wan movie was ever to come into play. He took footage from a few different “Star Wars” movies and Ewan McGregor’s film, “Last Days in the Desert”, in which the actor plays Jesus Christ facing 40 days of temptation. Throw in a couple digital tricks by adding a Star Destroyer and Ghost Qui-Gon Jinn into scenes from “Last Days in the Desert” and you have a pretty good argument for Lucasfilm and Disney to press forward on “Kenobi: A Star Wars Story”.

I would like to put a disclaimer here stating that I haven’t seen “Last Days in the Desert”, so I’m not telling anyone I support what the movie is about or the point of view it comes from. Check out the fan-made trailer for “Kenobi: A Star Wars Story” after the jump.
