Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy just may be the best documentary ever made about the making of the Star Wars trilogy, and if you are a member of Amazon Prime, you can now watch it on Prime Video!
Directed by Kevin Burns and Edith Becker, Empire of Dreams was originally released as a bonus feature on the 2004 DVD release of the Star Wars Trilogy, and features rare photographs and video, as well as interviews with the cast and crew, including many who have since passed away.
There’s a particular focus on the making of the first film and the challenges they faced. Pictures and interviews show the founding of Industrial Light and Magic, and detail the groundbreaking work they did on the film.
