Diego Luna is returning to the role of Rogue One’s Cassian Andor in a Star Wars live-action TV series.
On Thursday, Lucasfilm announced that a TV series show featuring Cassian Andor is coming to Disney+, the studios’ streaming service that begins in 2019. Diego Luna will reprise his role as Andor for the series, which is set before the events in Rogue One:A Star Wars Story.
The series begins production next year, but a premiere date has not been announced.
StarWars.com describes the series as a “rousing spy thriller (that) will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.”
“Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me,” Luna said. “I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.”
