Disney CEO Bob Iger has made it official – Chewbacca will appear in the Han Solo spin-off/anthology film that is currently in development. “We have other [films] in the works, including one, which is an origin
story about Han Solo and Chewie,” he said. “And that’ll come after ‘Star
Wars 8’ in 2018. And then there’ll possibly be more thereafter.”
There’s not much more known about the film, and no one has yet been cast as a young Han Solo. But at least we know a certain walking carpet will be in the film, although whether not Peter Mayhew will be behind the mask has yet to be seen. Mayhew has not commented on Iger’s statement.
