Here’s an exciting way to bring Revenge of the 5th to a close. Deadline announced that 26-year-old actor Alden Ehrenreich has attained the coveted role of young Han Solo for the upcoming stand-alone film as part of Lucasfilm and Disney’s “A Star Wars Story” series. After looking at a few different pictures, I can see it. You can read the announcement straight from the source after the jump.
“We don’t know if he’ll shoot first, but he has the job. Alden Ehrenreich will play Han Solo in Disney’s stand-alone ‘Star Wars’ movie, confirming what Deadline reported exclusively three weeks ago. Sources say the ‘Hail Caesar!’ star is negotiating to seal the deal.”
Ehrenreich also had starring roles in “Beautiful Creatures,” “Stoker,” and “Blue Jasmine.”
We should’ve known something was up when Han Solo movie director Chris Miller posted a picture of what appears to be the smuggler’s blaster from the set of the upcoming film with the tagline, “Can’t wait to get ‘shooting!’ #MayThe4thBeWithYou”
