‘The Mandalorian’ Reveals New Cast Members, Including ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Rocky’ Actors

Lucasfilm has not only confirmed who will play the Mandalorian in its new live-action series for Disney+, they added some surprising names to the cast.

According to StarWars.com, Pedro Pascal, who starred in the Netflix series “Narcos,” will play the title role in the series, described as “a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy.” He will star with Gina Carano (Deadpool) and Nick Nolte (48 Hours), who had also previously announced as cast members.

However, Lucasfilm also announced that Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”), Emily Swallow (“Supernatural”), Carl Weathers (Rocky and Predator), Omid Abtahi (“American Gods”), and Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man) will also appear in the series.

Disney has lined up some notable names to produce and direct “The Mandalorian.” Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) is executive producer, and episodes will be directed by Dave Filoni (“The Clone Wars,” “Rebels”), Taika Waititi (Thor: Raganarok), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World), Rick Famuyiwa, and Deborah Chow. Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Karen Gilchrist, and Filoni will also executive produce.
