“Simon Kinberg, who’s been a producer and writer on the X-Men film franchise since 2006, the Fantastic Four reboot, and Star Wars Rebels, is working on a new Star Wars movie project. A few months ago it was rumored that he was developing the upcoming Boba Fett film for Lucasfilm and now Deadline confirms that he’s working on a Star Wars project, but doesn’t say what that project is.
Via Deadline: ‘He is currently writing a forthcoming Star Wars movie, having been responsible for creating animated series Star Wars Rebels.’
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy previously talked about the [Boba Fett] project, saying:
‘It’s still one of the stories that we absolutely want to tell. There is a lot of innovative technology in and around what it is we’re doing with that story, so for a lot of reasons, we were comfortable postponing that. But we’re definitely still developing it.'”
