Paul Grant, Ewok Actor from ‘Return of the Jedi,’ Has Died

British actor Paul Grant, who appeared in both Return of the Jedi and Labyrinth, has passed away at the age of 56. On March 16, Grant collapsed at a London train station, and after several days of hospitalization, his family decided to discontinue life support, reports said.

Among Grant’s film roles were Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi in 1983, where he played an Ewok, and in the 1986 Jim Henson fantasy film Labyrinth, where he played a goblin. He also played a goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 2001. He was a stunt performer in 1988’s Willow and 1985’s Legend.

In interviews with the media, Grant’s daughter Sophie Jayne Grant said “I’m heartbroken. No girl deserves their dad to be taken away. He was so well known and loved. He’s gone too soon…My dad was a legend in so many ways. He always brought a smile and laughter to everyone’s face. He would do anything for anyone.”

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Grant’s family cover the cost of his funeral.
