Lucasfilm has announced that “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” the Disney+ event series starring Ewan McGregor, will begin production in April. More cast members were also announced, including some familiar names.
Set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” will also see the return of Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader. The series will be directed by Deborah Chow, who also directed two fan-favorite episodes of “The Mandalorian” Season 1.
Lucasfilm also announced more members of the cast, including some from the Prequel Trilogy. Joel Edgerton is returning to play Owen, and Bonnie Piesse is reprising her role as Beru, the uncle and aunts of a young Luke Skywalker. Other cast members announced include Moses Ingram, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
