The second season finale of the Disney+ series “The Mandalorian” had a surprise for fans after the end credits: the announcement of a Boba Fett series coming in 2021.
The episode ended with a bang, with Mark Hamill appearing as Luke Skywalker, swooping in to save the day and seemingly taking Baby Yoda (aka Grogu) to begin his Jedi training.
That wasn’t the only shock, however. A Marvel-like post-credits scene featured Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) returning to Jabba’s Palace and cleaning house, including killing Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s right-hand man who took over the Hutt’s operations. Fett then took a seat on Jabba’s throne, followed by an announcement that “The Book of Boba Fett” was coming in December of 2021.
No other details were given, so we can only speculate if “The Book of Boba Fett” is a movie, limited series, or ongoing series. It is interesting that “Book” will premiere the same month as the third season of “The Mandalorian,” which has a release date of Christmas Day 2021.
